Wilderness First Responder/W-EMT Module Course Outline

Wilderness Medicine Outfitters WFR/WEMT module course uniquely combines all of the EMT skills and knowledge for the WFR student. The academy of Wilderness Medicine has rated WMO's course, as of 2007 as the most wilderness medical content of any courses it has rated. WMO’s course exceeds DOT First Responder curriculum with a wilderness emphasis—Great for the self-sufficient active back country person who hikes an hour from town or days in the wilderness. This is the required training for the professional guide in most all categories. The current EMT will find this is a good review with the majority of the course oriented toward wilderness protocols, improvisation and long-term transport that the EMT is not trained for. Current costs are shown under "Distance Learning" button in "Standard Classes" drop down. Professional Rescuer CPR is required for WFR/WEMT. It is included in the WFR / WEMT classes but you can take it on line after calling us to be more prepared for class. It is optional for WFA classes. If you have taken a Pro Rescuer class in the last 6 months just send a copy to us and bring a card copy to class. Most WMO WFR/WEMT classes offer Pro Rescuer CPR as a class part. You may take it on line separately through WMO for $15. If you wish to take in advance we recommend taking 2 to 4 week before class people take 1 to 2 hours to complete the on line portion. Email or call for site address and code number to enter after mailing $15 or using pay pal fund transfer of $16.
